  • Ghana Arts Summer Program Summer 2012: A Hands-On Cultural Tourism Arts Program

    May 25 to June 13, 2012

    Accra - Three to Four days - Tour includes Cultural Arts center, Labadi Beach, Makola Market, Aburi Botanical Gadens

    Workshops   Eric Adjetey Anang “fantasy” coffin builder and Ernest Aryee ceramic artist.

    Travel to Kumasi – Bus - 6 to 8 hours

    Kumasi - Three to Four days – Tour includes National Cultural Center, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology art department, Kejetia Market (Africa’s second largest market) - Workshop with painter Isaac Badu

    Travel to Tamale– Bus - 5 to 6 hours

    Tamale - One day -Tour of cultural center and market place

    Travel to Bolgatanga – Bus – 2 to 3 hours

    Bolgatanga / Zaare - Three to Four days – Workshop with local potters, basket weavers and drummers

    Excursions to Paga and Navarongo

    One day travel (returning south) Tour - Mole National Park - One day visit

    One day travel return stop in Kumasi

    Return to Accra – Relaxed day on the beach

    Three hours travel to Cape Coast - One day visit to Castle Museum and Elmina Castle

    Return to Accra – independent day of beach, market and/or art sites

    Return flight to United States

Program Costs - Total Cost Estimate - $3800.00

Instructional fee is due upon arrival in Ghana
